I’m Natalie Griffie – wellness coach, triple threat, and dairy-free queen. You’re here for a reason and I get it – you’re committed to improving your well-being but you’re confused about what to do and you’re stuck in inaction. Or maybe you know what your next step is, but you’re finding it challenging to actually DO IT. I get it because I’ve been there – in so many ways!
I won’t bore you with my health history, but I’ll tell you that I’ve dealt with my fair share of physical and mental health challenges – as most people do. After much trial-and-error and lots of highs and lows, I’ve learned the tools to overcome these challenges and I’ve figured out how to feel better.
I’ve found there is a common thread to overcoming any obstacle. No matter the challenge, you must believe that success is possible.
I started dancing at the age of two and fell in love with performing. I danced, I sang, I acted. On stage, on film, in the shower. I grew up in a world focused on perfection and being perceived as “good.” I was good at performing. I absolutely loved being in that world. When I was performing, I loved who I was. Unfortunately I was unsure of who I was offstage. For a girl who seemed so sure of herself in the spotlight, I struggled with my self-confidence and anxiety behind the curtain. I put so much pressure on myself in every aspect of my life. I critiqued myself to the point that I was afraid to take action. I had so much self-doubt and negative self-talk, but I never realized it until I got older.
I wanted to be on Broadway, but I didn’t have the confidence. I didn’t think I could handle the New York City lifestyle. I didn’t think I could make a living. I didn’t think I was good enough. I watched my peers go on to find success on Broadway, performing in national tours and landing roles on screen. I watched from the sidelines, squeezing in time for dancing and acting when I could. I started to feel lost. In college I changed my major three times. I even dropped out of school for a short period. I had reached a low point.
Who was I if I wasn’t a performer?
Desperate to earn a degree in something, I chose to study Exercise Science after hearing a professor explain that it was, “the study of movement.” Perfect! I went on to become a group exercise instructor and personal trainer and eventually landed full-time positions including Occupational Wellness Coach and Director of Fitness.
Eventually my self-doubt and anxiety caught up to me. The stress began to set in. I wasn’t taking care of myself. I started doubting myself. I got sick.
I felt awful. I gained weight. I had symptoms of severe digestive distress. After an emergency hospital visit I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. I started taking prescription medications. I changed jobs thinking that would fix things, but I only became more stressed. I became more sick. I got less sleep. I wasn’t exercising. I wasn’t eating well. I wasn’t happy. My gastroenterologist suggested a more aggressive form of pharmaceutical treatment. I was in disbelief that this was my life and I knew there had to be another way to heal myself.
I started working with a naturopathic doctor and began focusing on healing myself from the inside-out with diet, meditation, and emotional healing. My symptoms started improving immediately, but there was more work to be done. I starting digging deep into mindset work and cultivating self-compassion. I started believing in my ability to make powerful changes in my life.
I have learned I will always be a work in progress and that is a beautiful thing. A life without constant growth is boring and unfulfilling.
I want my clients to know that they create any result they want. You want to lose weight? Heal from autoimmunity? Reduce anxiety? You have the power to do all of it! They key is to BELIEVE it’s possible and to know that you are WORTH the journey! It takes work – probably unlike anything you’ve done before – but it’s possible. I can help you make it a reality.
I am a performer, autoimmune warrior, wellness coach, personal trainer, teacher, student, wife, daughter, sister, cat mom, etc. I have fears and insecurities, I experience love and joy, and I’m always growing and busting through challenges. We are all powerful in our own way and we each have the ability to create radical change in our lives.
Are you ready to harness your power and create the life you deserve?
